How to be a Boss Playa

Came across something interesting this week.  Turns out Tupac Shakur had a come to Jesus moment while in jail and was in withdrawal from booze and drugs.  He memorialized his thoughts in a letter wrote a letter to Nina Bhadreshwar, which is now being sold by Moments in Time.  He said, “the seed planted…before me showed me the path to the next level.  <Many> never survive the next level of Thug Life…They become addicted to death.  A True Boss Playa knows when to advance…U must play the game, not let the game play u.  A regular Playa plays women…a boss Playa plays life.  A Boss Playa is a thinker, a leader, a builder, a moneymaker, a souljah, a teach and most of all, a Man!  I want my homiez to know there is another level”

Isn’t that great?!  What a shame he was killed in 1996.  With these thoughts planted within him, his messages could have gone ever farther and wider than they already have.

Along the same lines, I firmly believe it is required viewing to go see Straight out of Compton.  Fabulous film.  Simply fabulous!  It was awesomely inspiring to be reminded there are people who are not afraid to speak their truth despite whatever circumstances may be thrown at them.  I did not know about the fuck the police! story or song but love it…not necessarily literally but the principle of standing the f*ck up for YOURSELF and YOUR rights and for knowing who the f*ck YOU actually are.
